Taco Soup

1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
1 (28-ounce) can whole tomatoes, chopped, undrained
1 package taco seasoning mix
1 package dry ranch style dressing
1/2 cup picante sauce
1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
1 (11-ounce) can corn
1 (15-ounce) can pinto beans
2 cups water
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pound tortilla chips
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  1. In a large kettle brown ground beef, chopped onion, and chopped green bell pepper; drain. Add chopped whole tomatoes (undrained). Stir in taco seasoning mix, dry ranch style dressing, picante sauce, tomato paste, canned corn, canned pinto beans, water, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 1 hour.
  2. Serve with tortilla chips and shredded cheddar cheese.

Makes 12 servings.
